[DAVENPORT, IA] InConvenience Inc announces that it has been awarded a $9,190 cost-share grant from the Iowa Department of Agriculture and Land Stewardship to increase market access for Iowa-grown products at the Gas Spot convenience store at 303 W. Locust St., in Davenport, IA.

As one of 30 grant recipients, InConvenience Inc will create an Iowa Grown section in a new self-serve island cooler to feature locally manufactured products made from Iowa agricultural ingredients. Dedicated Iowa Grown signage will draw customers to the cooler section containing refrigerated products made in Iowa, including beer, milk, and yogurt.

InConvenience Inc’s grant application included letters of support from Kyle Theil, Director of Taproom Operations at Field Day Brewing in North Liberty, Iowa and Seth Rapson, President of Country View Dairy in Hawkeye, Iowa.

InConvenience Inc’s new cooler will be stocked with products from both companies in their Iowa Grown section, including Field Day Brewing beer made from Iowa-produced blue corn and locally grown and processed organic grains. Country View Dairy yogurts and milks will also be stocked in the self-serve cooler. The Gas Spot will be the first Davenport retailer to sell Country View Dairy products, expanding market access for the family-owned farm and creamery.

“We don’t just operate in these communities. We’re part of them,” said Tiffany Fraley, CEO of InConvenience Inc. “Putting Iowa-made products front and center is one of the most meaningful ways we can give back. When our customers grab a local beer or a gallon of milk, they’re supporting their neighbors, their local economy, and the people who work hard every day to keep it all moving. That’s the kind of impact we’re proud to be part of.”

Launched in 2022, the Choose Iowa Value-Added Grant Program has awarded more than $2.14 million in cost-share grants. InConvenience Inc is honored to be one of the 30 applicants chosen from this year’s 130 applicants.

“Consumers increasingly want more local food and beverages and that’s great news for Iowa farmers and small businesses. These Choose Iowa Value-Added Grants help farmers, entrepreneurs, and small businesses grow their operations, expand processing capacity, and bring more customer-ready Iowa products to market,” said Iowa Secretary of Agriculture Mike Naig, quoted in the March 30th Choose Iowa press release. “By investing alongside these businesses, we are helping meet growing consumer demand while creating economic opportunity in communities across the state. The overwhelming popularity of this value-added program highlights the momentum and growing interest in local food as well as the high quality of the projects proposed across Iowa.”
