InConvenience Inc has completed a series of four Gas Spot remodels in Missouri. The stores are located in Pattonsburg, which opened on Sept. 20; Fairfax, which opened on Dec. 20; Tarkio, which opened on Dec. 21; and Alma, which opened on Feb. 4.
The Gas Spot locations have been remodeled to feature all new sales fixtures, new casework for the checkouts and coffee counters, updated restrooms and renovated kitchens, beginning the retailer’s venture into foodservice to sell Wingman pizza and chicken.
The store design reflects InConvenience Inc’s desire to promote a friendly and inviting environment for customers, while hinting at the fun and playful nature of The Gas Spot’s branding, it said.
The Gas Spot locations were previously operated by SQRL. After c-store retailer SQRL Service Stations LLC, Little Rock, Arkansas, terminated operations in May 2024, InConvenience Inc worked to open these stores under its own operations arm. This process included hiring local vendors for clean outs, partnering with general contractors for remodel work, establishing design plans with branding firms and fixture retailers, forging new vendor contracts for inventory and foodservice, hiring and training all new store staff and spending countless hours on site preparing each store for a successful opening day.
“We’re proud to open up closed locations for small towns, providing much-needed access to quality goods and services. By revitalizing these spaces, we’re not only supporting local economies but also fostering a sense of community,” said Tiffany Fraley, CEO for InConvenience. “These stores aim to bring convenience and opportunities for residents, creating a vibrant atmosphere where everyone can benefit.”
She added, “We still have fuel hurdles to overcome at some of these Missouri locations with neglected tanks and equipment. In the meantime, we are also exploring ways to set ourselves apart in these ultra-competitive markets.”
The company will open five more Arkansas locations and three in Iowa, Fraley said. Grand opening celebrations for these locations will be held in the spring, with giveaways, raffle drawings, week-long food and drink specials and new branded merchandise offerings. These events will be a chance for the customers to meet with company employees to gather feedback and learn how The Gas Spot stores can be a bigger part of each community.
Chicago-based InConvenience Inc is a women-led company focusing on providing convenience to customers, opportunities for employees and support to communities “through grassroots approaches and unwavering convictions, all while maintaining a sense of humor and humility,” it said. “The company’s mission is to be a reliable partner in their customers’ daily lives with a commitment to value, innovation and ethical operations in a clean and safe environment.”
